Morocco is currently building what will be a 6000 acre, 580 MW solar plant. It is expected to be completed by 2018, but the country has already turned it on, adding 160 MW to their grid and providing electricity for 650 000 local residents. The plant uses mirrors to reflect sunlight onto a pipeline carrying molten salts which then heats water into to steam, powering turbines.
